Directory Update - Changing Domain Controller and Service Account settings

Changing Domain Controller and Account Configuration

Some customers have asked how easy it is to change the change the domain controller and service account. While some of this information is in the Registry and can be changed there, the password, company information, and license key are stored as encrypted entries in the Registry and cannot be updated manually.

In the c:\inetpub\wwwroot\directoryupdate\bin folder, there is an executable file called DirectorySetting.exe.  This utility offers you the ability to update the license key and the directory information. You must have your registered organization name and license key to run this.

On the first screen, you provide your organization information and the license key.

When you click Next, you must provide an updated service account, domain name, and domain controller.  Make sure you click the Test Directory Settings button after entering the information.  You cannot proceed until you check the directory settings.
